CBN.com — Ming and Gee are brothers and the best of friends. They understand each other well because both boys were born deaf. Their parents are deaf, too.

Mrs. Zu signs, "I worried that my sons would not have any friends and later would not be able to find work. Just the thought of that made me cry!"

A doctor said their boys needed hearing aids and language training, but the Zu's were extremely poor.

"I could not pay for one hearing aid, let alone two," Mr. Zu communicates. "Since we are deaf, no one will hire us."

So for the sake of their sons, the Zu's started begging on the streets.

"People pointed at us and laughed at us. I was so ashamed," signs Mrs. Zu.

They estimated it would take at least 10 years of begging to collect enough money for hearing aids. Then one day, Mr. Zu saw something that gave him hope.

"It was a school with lots of happy children – all wearing hearing aids," he motions. "I met the principal, and talked to her about our sons."

The principal of the school shares, "I was so touched by this couple and their love for their boys. I wanted to do something to help."

The principal called CBN. While Mr. and Mrs. Zu's conditions were too advanced to be treated, we gave both Ming and Gee hearing aids and paid for their language training.

Mr. Zu signs with joy, "I will never forget when my boys put on their hearing aids for the first time!"

Mrs. Zu adds, "I was so happy, I cried! They have friends now. And they will be able to get jobs when they grow up for sure."

We also helped Mr. and Mrs. Zu start their own barber shop, so they don't have to beg on the streets anymore.

"I will work hard to provide a good life for my sons," motions Mr. Zu.

Mrs. Zu concludes, "Thank you so much for your help and your loving heart! You have completely changed all of our lives!"
